OUR MISSION:

To be a witness for Jesus Christ to a lost world,

equipping people to become fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ.

OUR VISION:

WE ENVISION a church that follows our Lord’s example, making the prayer

ministry a vitally important service at Cornerstone Christian Church.

WE ENVISION a church to be a witness to lost neighbors, friends, family members
and the world through training and obedience to the Lord.

WE ENVISION a church making disciples by equipping people through spiritual
formation classes to be fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ.

WE ENVISION a church who promotes missions at home and overseas
through recruitment, sending and financial support.

WE ENVISION a church where all of it’s members are active ministers
for Jesus Christ in our community.

WE ENVISION a church with a worship service where God is worshiped in such a way
that people experienced all His presence, power, and purpose and where only
He is glorified, His word preached and His people are built up.

Having given ourselves to Christ and one another we hope to:

EXALT GOD’S GREATNESS (1 Chronicles 29:11-13)

EQUIP GOD’S PEOPLE (Ephesians 4:11-13),

EVANGELIZE GOD’S WORLD (Matthew 28:19-20), and

EXPRESS GOD’S LOVE (John 13:34-35),

to the community in which we belong.

WHAT WE BELIEVE:

1. The Bible: The scriptures of the Old and New Testaments were given by inspiration of God, and are infallible   II Timothy 3:16-17

2. God: There is one true living God, revealed in nature as the creator, and is the righteous ruler of the Universe, and in scripture as Father, Son, and Holy Ghost; yet as one God, infinitely wise and good.  Deuteronomy 6:4, I Corinthians 8:4, I John 5:20.

3. Christ: Christ is God manifest in the flesh; in His divine nature truly God, in His human form truly man. He is the mediator between God and man, virgin born, once crucified, He is now risen, and is over Savior and Lord.  Isaiah 45:21, John 4:42, I John 5:20

4. The Holy Spirit: He is the intelligent being who convicts, converts, councils and comforts man. John 16:7-14

5. The sinfulness of man: Created man fell into a state of sin and condemnation and inherited a fallen nature of such tendencies the when the age of accountability is reached become guilty before God.  Psalm 51:5, John 3:6, Romans 5:12

6. The work of Christ: By His life, sufferings, death and resurrection allows for all to be redeemed from sin that is full and is free and brings salvation by faith. Hebrews 2:9, Hebrews 9:22, Romans 3:25-26, Ephesians 1:7

7. Justification: It means that a person has been justified before God by the atonement of Christ and is pardoned from the guilt of sin, and is restored to favor with God. Romans 5:1, Acts 13:39

8. Sanctification: The continuing of God’s grace by which the Christian may constantly grow in grace and in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. I Thessalonians 5:23, II Peter 3:18

9. Ordinances of the Gospel:

A. Baptism:  The immersion of believers in water, in name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit unto the newness of life. Matthew 28:19, Colossians 2:12, Romans 6:4

B. The Lord’s Supper:  A commemoration of the death of Christ for our sins in the use as bread as the emblem of His broken body, and the cup, the emblem of His shed blood, and by this the believer expresses his love for Christ, his faith and hope in Him, and pledges to Him their perpetual fidelity.

It is a privilege and duty of all who have spiritual union with Christ to commemorate His death, and no man has the right to forbid these tokens to the least of His disciples.  Matthew 26:26-28, I Corinthians 11:23-26

C. Washing of the saints’ Feet: This is a sacred ordinance, which teaches humility and reminds the believer of the necessity of a daily cleansing from all sin. John 3:4-8

10. Death: As a result of sin, all mankind is subject to the death of the body. The soul does not die with the body, but immediately enters a conscious state of happiness or misery.  Romans 5:12, Hebrews 9:27, Philippeans 1:23

11. Second coming of Christ: The Lord Jesus Christ will come again at the close of the gospel dispensation and glorify His saints, and judge the world. Acts 1:11, I Thessalonians 4:13-17

12. The Resurrection: All bodies will rise, each in its own order. Believers to the resurrection of life, and they that died without believing unto the resurrection of damnation.  John 5:28-29, Acts 24:15, I Corinthians 15:35-44
